Thomas Enqvist is the son of Folke Enqvist and Birgitta. They have both supported their son during his career journey. However, there is less information about them on the internet.

Their son, Thomas reached the final of 1999 Australian Open and won a total of 19 single titles, including three Master titles. In November 1999, he reached a career-high ranking of World No.4.

Enqvist was forced on the Swedish Davis Cup team. In 1998, he helped Sweden reach the finals of the Davis Cup for the fourth time in five years.
From 2017 to 2019, Enqvist was captain of the Swedish Davis Cup team. He currently works as a commentator for Eurosport Sweden. He is also the current vice-captain for Team Europe in the Lever Cup, a position he has held since the inaugural tournament.
Enqvist has been provisionally coaching Stefanos Tsitsipas since February 2022, starting with the Rotterdam Open.
