What You Should Know About Shark Tank

Shark Tank is an American business reality TV series produced by Mark Burnett.

The show which airs on ABC, premiered in 2009.

The series is the American adaptation of Dragons’ Den, which made its debut in Japan in 2001 under the name ‘Money Tigers’.

It depicts business owners presenting their plans to a group of six investors, or “sharks,” who will ultimately decide whether or not to fund their ventures.

The 42 minutes series starrs Kevin O’Leary, Mark Cuban, Robert Herjavec, Lori Greiner, Daymond John, Barbara Corcoran, Kevin Harrington, amongst many others.

The show received the prize for Outstanding Reality Program in 2012, and from 2014 to 2017, it won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Structured Reality Program four times in a row.

The show has a group of investors, dubbed “sharks,” who make investment decisions when entrepreneurs pitch their business ideas.

Sharks frequently uncover flaws and vulnerabilities in an entrepreneur’s product, business strategy, or company value.

If a panelist shows interest, the entrepreneur can close a deal while the show is airing. But if every panelist declines, the businessperson walks out with nothing.
