Did Tim Robbins win an Oscar for Shawshank Redemption?
He is known for portraying Andy Dufresne in the film The Shawshank Redemption (1994) and has won an Academy Award and two Golden Globe Awards for his roles in the films The Player (1992) and Mystic River (2003).
Shawshank Redemption did not win the Oscars because of many reasons including competition from films such as Pulp Fiction and Forrest Gump, the general unpopularity of prison films, its lack of female characters, and even the title, which was considered to be confusing for audiences.
