Her parents sent her to a boarding school in England when she was 11 years old, after she had completed the majority of her primary school education in Iran.

She attended Holy Cross Convent, an all-girls school in Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire, before transferring to New Hall School, a Roman Catholic school in Chelmsford, Essex, when she was 16

Not long after the Islamic Revolution began, Christiane and her family returned to England. She has emphasized that they were not forced to leave the country, but were instead returning to England as a result of the Iran-Iraq war. The family eventually stayed in England because it was difficult for them to return to Iran.

I cannot imagine a more complex upbringing than being raised under these two VERY diverse religions! Wow! Especially for a young child. Yes they both acknowledge Jesus in different respects, but still their holy books are very different. Still, it gives such a child an open mind about ALL worldly matters which is possibly why Ms. Amanpour leaned into reporting.
