Manti Malietau Louis Te’o is an American football linebacker who is currently a free agent. He last played for the Chicago Bears.

Te’o has also played for;

  • San Diego Chargers, where he spent four seasons and
  • New Orleans Saints, where he spent two seasons.

Te’o played college football at Notre Dame, where he was a consensus All-American and received eight national awards. He was drafted by the San Diego Chargers in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft, and played in the NFL until 2021.

Te’o was selected in the second round, 38th overall by the San Diego Chargers and after spending four seasons, he moved to the New Orleans Saints, signing a two-year contract on March 21, 2017.

Te’o stayed with The Saints until October 20, 2020, when he was signed to the Chicago Bears’ practice squad and was placed on the practice squad/COVID-19 list by the team on December 7, 2020 and restored to the practice squad on December 19.

He was elevated to the active roster on January 9, 2021, for the team’s wild card playoff loss against the New Orleans Saints, and reverted to the practice squad after the game.

His practice squad contract with the team expired after the season on January 18, 2021 and he has been a free agent since then.
