It was discovered in Cullinan, South Africa in 1905 and given to King Edward VII. The rough diamond, dubbed the “Star of Africa,” was cut into nine main stones, the largest of which is the 530.2ct Cullinan I.

Kohinoor is not the biggest diamond in the world. However, Kohinoor is one of the world’s largest cut diamonds, weighing 105.6 carats (21.12 g).

It is one of the United Kingdom’s Crown Jewels. The diamond is currently set in the Queen Mother’s Crown.

Weighing in at a massive 105.6ct, the diamond is oval shaped. Steeped in mystery and legend, the stone is believed to have been mined in India in the 1300s.
The colorless oval-cut diamond is also known as Mountain of Light and the Diamond of Babur. The diamond is now on display in the Tower of London’s Jewel House.
