In the wake of her mother’s death and her brother’s accession to the throne, Anne is expected to continue her service as a senior working royal, joining Queen Camilla, Prince Edward and his wife Sophie, the Countess of Wessex, and Prince Williams and his wife Kate, the Princess of Wales, in building the next chapter.

The Princess Royal performs official duties and engagements on behalf of her older brother, Charles. She holds patronage in over 300 organisations, including WISE, and Riders for Health and Carers Trust.

Princess Anne has been associated with Save the Children for over fifty years and has visited a number of their projects; her work resulted in her nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize in 1990.

In 1988, Princess Anne became a member of the International Olympic Committee.
