Sam Fender’s parents are Shirley and Alan Fender. His mother, Shirley was a nurse, while his father Alan was an electrician, a singer-songwriter, and instrumentalist.

Sam Fender independently released his debut single, “Play God”, in late March 2017. He got signed to Polydor Records in June 2018.
