Peter Straub was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on March 2, 1943, and died in New York City, New York, on September 4, 2022, at the age of 79 years, as a result of complications of a broken hip.

Peter Straub suffered a broken hip and was hospitalised for a number of weeks but later succumbed to it in a hospital in Manhattan.
