John Ehrenreich has authored a number of books and some of them include “Native Trees of Connecticut: A Step-by-Step Illustrated Guide to Identifying the State’s Species”, “The Making of a Pandemic: Social, Political, and Psychological Perspectives on Covid-19”, “The Altruistic Imagination”, and others.

John Ehrenreich has been married on two occasions: to Barbara Ehrenreich from 1966 to 1977, and to Sharon McQuaide from 1987 till date. John Ehrenreich is blessed with three lovely children called Ben Ehrenreich, Rosa Brooks, and Alexander Ehrenreich.
John Ehrenreich has been involved in a number of non-governmental organisations in several countries like the Netherlands, Jordan, Bosnia, and Sierra Leone, among others.
John Ehrenreich holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Harvard College, a PhD in Cellular Biology from Rockefeller University and another PhD in Clinical Psychology from the New School for Social Research.
