Why did Venus Williams stop playing tennis?

Venus Williams commenced her career in tennis at a very young age due to the influence of her father, Richard Williams, in the world of tennis. Venus Williams started her professional career in career around the late 1990s and she played actively throughout the years till 2003.

In 2003, Venus Williams suffered a career-threatening abdominal injury that kept her out of play for over three years and she resumed fully in 2006.

After resuming from injury in 2006, Venus Williams came to win a number of tournaments including a gold medal in the doubles at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
