William Turnball was a British journalist and presenter, who in later life worked as a presenter for the radio station, Classic FM, after many years as a presenter with the BBC.

He was the main male presenter of BBC Breakfast from 2001 until 2016 and presented the religious Songs of Praise and game show, Think Tank.
Turnball’s career began at Scottish local station Radio Clyde in 1978, and later, he freelanced for several years in the USA.

In 1997, Turnball moved back to the UK and became one of the main presenters on BBC News 24, appearing alongside Valarie Sanderson. He also presented regular programmes on Radio 5 Live, including a stint as a presenter on Weekend Breakfast.
In March 2018, just as his cancer diagnosis was made public, BBC One aired 10 episodes of Holding Back the Years, featuring Bill Turnball with Fiona Philips offering information on living well in later life.
Turnball died at his home in Suffolk, on August 31, at the age of 66.
