Micky Dolenz is a businessman and actor from the United States. Dolenz was born in Los Angeles, California, at Cedars of Lebanon Hospital. He is the son of actors George Dolenz and Janelle Johnson.

Micky Dolenz’s father George was best known for his role in the 1956 ITC Entertainment 39-episode television series, The Count of Monte Cristo as the title character, Edmond Dantes

Micky Dolenz’s mother Janelle won the drama award at the University of Texas at Austin. Her films included David O. Selznick’s Academy Award-winning Since You Went Away (1944) and The Brute Man (1946)

His mother Janelle Johnson died of cancer in Los Gatos, California, on her 72nd birthday and his father George Dolenz died of a heart attack at the age of 55 in 1963. He was laid to rest at Glendale’s Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Micky Dolenz is best known as the vocalist and drummer for the 1960s pop-rock band the Monkees (1966-1970, with multiple reunions until 2021), as well as a co-star of the TV series The Monkees (1966–1968).
