Artemis 1 Launch: How to Watch

Artemis 1 is set to launch from Kennedy Space Center on a 42-day mission to the Moon and back on Monday, August 29, 2022. If the launch is cancelled, the next window will open at noon on Friday, September 2.

The Artemis 1 launch can be watched on NASA’s website, the NASA app, and NASA TV.  NASA will begin live coverage at 6:30 a.m. ET with Spanish language coverage beginning an hour later.

NASA will also provide updates throughout the 42-day mission, which ends on Oct. 10 when the spacecraft splashes down over the Pacific Ocean near Baja, California.

The launch of Artemis 1 is a test mission for both the booster and the Orion capsule, which will eventually transport astronauts. It allows NASA to learn what it knows and does not know.

NASA will hold a post-launch briefing after the launch, and later that day, the agency will share the first Earth views from cameras aboard the Orion spacecraft.
