Jeremy Scott Hefner is an American former professional baseball pitcher and pitching coach for the New York Mets of Major League Baseball (MLB). He played in MLB for the New York Mets, and has previously coached for the Minnesota Twins.

Hefner also played for the San Diego Padres, Pittsburgh Pirates and the St. Louis Cardinals and currently has an estimated net worth of $2 million.
Hefner attended Perkins-Tryon High School, where he was a first-team all-state selection as a senior. He also lettered in football.

Hefner attended Seminole State College for two years before transferring to Oral Roberts University.

In his freshman year, he was 5–4 with a 4.03 ERA and 47 strikeouts in 46 innings. In his sophomore year, he was 4–1 with a 4.25 ERA and 49 Ks in 36 innings pitched.
The New York Mets selected Hefner in the 46th round of the 2004 Major League Baseball draft; however, he opted not to sign. He was next drafted by the Mets in the 48th round of the 2005 Major League Baseball draft, but again did not sign.
Hefner’s career span over two decades and he announced his retirement as a player on January 17, 2017. He finished his career at the St. Louis Cardinals.
