Araiza was named first-string punter in addition to kicking duties for his redshirt junior season in 2021, and ESPN named him a mid-season All-American at the position.

He finished the season with a punt average of 51.19 yards, breaking the NCAA record set by Texas A&M’s Braden Mann in 2018 (50.98) and earning the nickname “Punt God” from fans.
Araiza was named the Ray Guy Award winner as the best punter in the country. Araiza was selected by the Buffalo Bills in the sixth round, 180th overall, of the 2022 NFL Draft.
He was named the Bills’ starting punter as a rookie after veteran Matt Haack was released. He did not play in the Bills’ final preseason game on August 26, 2022, a day after being accused of sexual assault at SDSU.
