Matthew Ryan Araiza is a free agent American football punter. He is the son of Rico Araiza and Kerry Arazia.

Matt Araiza is of Mexican descent through his father, Rico, who was born in Mexico. Araiza grew up in San Diego, California, and attended Rancho Bernardo High School, where he participated in football and track and field.

He made 37 field goals and was named All-America as a placekicker twice. Matt Araiza attended San Diego State University, where he set the NCAA season record for average punt yardage as a junior.
Because of his collegiate success, he earned the moniker “Punt God.” Araiza entered the National Football League (NFL) after being drafted in the sixth round of the 2022 NFL Draft by the Buffalo Bills, but he was released before the 2022 season after being accused of sexual assault.
