Ichiro ended the 2004 season with a total of 262 hits, setting single-season records in both the United States and Japan.

Ichiro had more hits (924) than anyone in history over any four-year period from 2001 to 2004, breaking Bill Terry’s record of 918 from 1929 to 1932.

From 2004 to 2007, he surpassed his own record with 930 hits. Ichiro hit over.450 in one 56-game stretch in 2004.  In 2004, Ichiro hit over.400 against left-handed pitching.

He was a ten-time MLB All-Star, and his three-hit performance in the 2007 All-Star Game included the event’s first-ever inside-the-park home run.

Suzuki won a Rawlings Gold Glove Award in each of his first ten years in the majors and had seven hitting streaks of 20 or more games, with a high of 27. He had the longest streak of any player in history, with ten consecutive 200-hit seasons.
