Joshua Dobbs was a true freshman at the University of Tennessee in 2013. He was later inducted into Omicron Delta Kappa in Tennessee in 2016. He made the most passing yards in a freshman debut since 2004 after completing 26-of-42 passes for 240 yards in the 31–3 loss.
Following the NFL Scouting Combine, he has been ranked the seventh-best quarterback in the draft by ESPN, the ninth-best quarterback by Sports Illustrated, as well as the eighth-best quarterback in the draft by NFLDraftScout.com.
