Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen was King Viserys I’s only living child by his first wife, Queen Aemma of House Arryn.

he was named her father’s heir when she was eight years old, and she grew up expecting to be the first ruling Queen of Westeros. Rhaenyra was a dragonrider who rode Syrax.
Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen’s claim to the Iron Throne was challenged by her younger half-brother, Aegon II Targaryen, sparking the Dance of the Dragons civil war. She gave birth to two kings, Aegon III and Viserys II.
Citizens were enraged by her time on the Iron Throne, believing dragons to be evil, so they stormed the Dragonpit and killed the four dragons there, as well as Rhaenyra’s own dragon Syrax shortly afterwards.

After losing her first three sons, Rhenyra fled to Dragonstone, where she was betrayed and taken back to King’s Landing to see her injured and delirious brother the king.
Her brother Aegon II, labelled her a traitor to the realm and his command resulted in her execution. As her son Aegon III looked on, he had her body fed to his dragon in a grisly and sadistic lesson.
