Who has the most runner-up finishes at the Masters without ever winning?

Tom Weiskopf, an American professional golfer who played on the PGA Tour and the Champions Tour has died. He was born on November 9, 1942 and he died on August 21, 2022.

Weiskopf’s most successful decade came in the 1970s. He won 16 PGA Tour titles between 1968 and 1982.

Aside his victories, he is also famed as the golfer with the most Masters runner-up finishes without winning. Weiskopf finished second at the Masters four times over the course of his career, and never won at Augusta.

After winding down his tournament career, Weiskopf became a renowned golf course architect, with at least 40 courses to his credit in many parts of the world, including the Monument and Pinnacle courses at Troon North Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona; and Loch Lomond, the venue of the Scottish Open from 1995 to 2010.

Weiskopf’s designs mostly feature a drivable par-4 hole.
