Josephine Tewson Ex-Husband: Who was Henry Newman?

Josephine Ann Tewson was a British character actress best known for her roles in British television sitcoms such as Elizabeth “Liz” Warden and Miss Davenport in Last of the Summer Wine.

Josephine Tewson was not married at the time of her death. However, In the early 1970s, Josephine Tewson married Henry Newman, a dental surgeon who died in 1980.

Personal details about Henry Newman’s life are not known.

Josephine Tewson passed away on August 18, 2022, at Denville Hall, a London retirement home for actors at the age of 91.

Her other sitcoms included Shelley with Hywel Bennett and No Appointment Necessary with Roy Kinnear. 

Tewson was also a favourite of actor and writer Ronnie Barker, appearing in several television comedies with him, including David Frost On Sunday, His Lordship Entertains, Hark At Barker, Clarence, and various episodes of The Two Ronnies.
