Is Rett syndrome Fatal?

When food, saliva, or other liquids enter the lungs instead of the stomach, this type of pneumonia occurs.

Scoliosis in children can lead to lung problems. Uncontrolled seizures can also increase the risk of health complications.

Irregular heartbeat in children and adults with Rett syndrome is a life-threatening problem that can lead to sudden death.

Rett syndrome has no known cure. When children receive appropriate treatment, their symptoms are often effectively managed into adulthood.
