Carl Nassib is an American football outside linebacker for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League. Nassib became the first active NFL player to publicly come out as gay after he released a statement on his Instagram account disclosing his sexuality on June 21, 2021.

Carl Nassib was born to his parents Gilbert Nassib and Mary Nassib. His father Gilbert Nassib played college football at the University of Delaware. He was brought up alongside his siblings Ryan Nassib, John Nassib, Paige Nassib and Carey Nassib.

As a senior, Carl Nassib was selected team captain in basketball at Malvern Preparatory School. Nassib was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft with the 65th pick. He was given the Lombardi Award for being the best college football lineman or linebacker.
