British broadcaster and TV presenter, Jeremy Paxman, is 72 years old. He was born on May 11, 1950, in Leeds, United Kingdom.

Paxman had his education at Malvern College and St Catharine’s College, Cambridge.
As a student, he served as editor of the undergraduate newspaper Varsity.
Paxman has been a former Newsnight presenter and is known for hosting Quizmaster of University Challenge.

Paxman is stepping down as host of the University Challenge after almost three dcades.

He has been the quizshow presenter since 1994.
Paxman, who will be shooting his final episode this fall, said:
“I had a blast hosting this wonderful series for nearly 29 years and have been lucky enough to work with an amazing team and meet some of the ‘swottier’ brains in the country.”
For Kate Philips, BBC Unscripted Director, Paxman was “at the front and centre of the show’s success and without doubt one of the world’s finest, and most formidable quizmasters.”
“We are hugely grateful to Jeremy for his dedication to the programme for an incredible 28 years, he will be much missed by us all and the show’s millions of viewers,” she said.
