Lenny passed away on August 15, 2022, after a lengthy battle with motor neurone disease.
He was aged 52.
Lenny had been diagnosed with the disease in 2017, a time when he still played as defensive midfielder at Blackburn.

Lenny was born on November 29, 1969, in Preston, Lancashire, England.
He played for several clubs including Burnley, Bury and Swansea City.

He began his career at Blackburn Rovers and played part-time at Preston North End. He later signed a £50,000 by Hartlepool United.
While he was with the Pool, he made more than 50 appearances and scored eleven goals.
Upon his contract expiration, Lenny was signed by the Bury. He played with the Bury for 6 years before moving to Swansea City, on a one-year contract.
Lenny had sustained a hamstring injury, but later recovered. His contract was extended for another one year.
Lenny retired in 2004, and took up a school teaching job in the north-west.
Lenny is survived by his wife Nadine and three children.
