Late Christopher Hitchens had three children during his lifetime – Sophia and Alexander from his first marriage, and Antonia from his second marriage.

Alexander Hitchens

Alexander is a Political scientist, as well as a lecturer in Terrorism and Radicalisation at King’s College London.

He doubles as the Research Director on Extremism at George Washington University.

He is also a prolific writer who writes on topics bordering on Foreign Affairs, Prospect, and Foreign Policy.

Sophia Hitchens

Antonia Hitchens

Antonia Hitchens works as an editorial staff at the New Yorker. She joined the media house in 2016.

Antonia also teaches at Columbia University, where she had graduated from. She also writes for The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal.

Who Was Christopher Hitchens?

Christopher Hitchens was a British-American author, journalist and literary critic, born in Portsmouth in 1949.

Hitchens had written more than 30 books, with five essay collections, all centered around culture, politics, and literature.

He was regarded as a democratic socialist, and a Marxist, and belonged to several socialist organisations during his lifetime.

Hitchens was a strong critic of the American foreign policy, but backed the American government during military interventions such as the Kosovo War, the Afghanistan War, and the Iraq War.

Hitchens died in Houston, Texas, United States, on December 15, 2011, after a battle with cancer. He was aged 62.
