Baseball coach for the Southern Miss Golden Eagles baseball team, Corky Palmer, had a net worth of approximately $5 million at the time of his death.

What Happened To Corky Palmer?

Corky Palmer died on August 10, 2022, after suffering from series of stroke. He was aged 68.

Palmer had earlier undergone a neck surgery which resulted into complications and stroke.

Corky Palmer Career

Born of March 14, 1954, was baseball head coach at Meridian Community College and the head coach of the Southern Miss Golden Eagles baseball team for 12 seasons.

He retired in 2019 after assisting the Golden Eagles to make their first appearance in the College World Series.

Palmer won the Conference USA Baseball Coach of the Year in 2003.

Palmer leaves behind a legacy of 400 wins while he was coach at Meridian Community College (409) as well as USM (458), eight NCAA appearances.

He is survived by his wife Debby, children, extended family members and friends.

“I don’t think there was a better representative of Southern Miss baseball and the University of Southern Miss as a whole than Corky Palmer,” USM baseball coach Scott Berry said.

“He was a developer of young men from what he did both on the coaching staff and from the character side as well,” Berry added.

Berry had served under Palmer as an assistant coach.
