Mario Fiorentini, an Italian partisan, spy, mathematician, and academic, for years a professor of geometry at the University of Ferrara has died.

He was operative in numerous actions including the assault on the entrance to the Regina Coeli prison and participated in the organization of the attack in via Rasella.

He was also Italy’s most decorated World War II partisan.

Fiorentini died Tuesday in a Rome hospital aged 103.

A cause of death was not given and his death was confirmed by the National Partisans Association of Italy’s Rome chapter.

Though a cause of death was not given, it’s believed that he died of natural causes.

At the beginning of 1943, he set up with Plinio De Martiis with performances at Mazzini Theater and at Delle Arti with actors such as;
