Born on November 7, 1918, Mario took part in the assault on the entrance to the Regina Coeli prison. He once had the opportunity to run for Italy’s Parliament after the war but he declined the offer.

Mario was also a mathematician, and professor  of geometry at the University of Ferrara. His love for the academia had made him ditch a potential political career.

He later proceeded to teach at other universities across Italy, Canada and the United States.
