Didi Conn Son: Meet Daniel Shire

Daniel Shire is the son of American actress and activist Didi Conn. Didi shares her son with David Shire, her second husband. Daniel who was born in 1992 is currently 30 years old.

Daniel Shire was diagnosed with autism at age three and he has extreme sensitivity to sound and cannot be left alone.

Didi Conn admitted to CNN that she had denied her son’s frightening diagnosis.

They tried dozens of therapies before finding the best people to deal with autism and help Daniel develop.

When something goes wrong with your child, your first instinct is to fix it. Diagnose the situation, solve the problem, and relieve your child’s pain. But with autism, that takes a lot of effort.

No matter all the struggles and pain, the actress is thankful to God for “the blessing of my beautiful, innocent son.” She stated:

The blessing of having my son has been learning patience. You have certain expectations for your children of what it’s going to be like to be a mother.  Because of professional and effective treatments, Daniel is doing quite well.
