Lamont Dozier was born in 1941 in Detroit, Michigan, and rose to prominence after joining the legendary Motown Records in 1962 with songwriting brothers Brian and Eddie Holland. They collaborated to create Detroit’s signature “Motown sound.”
During their illustrious career, the “Motown musketeers” wrote career-making singles for such iconic bands as the Four Tops, the Supremes, and the Isley Brothers.

“Where Did Our Love Go,” “Baby Love,” “You Can’t Hurry Love,” “Reach Out I’ll Be There,” and other genre-defining songs were among Holland-Dozier-greatest Holland hits.
Dozier and the Holland brothers were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990 and later received their stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
