Olivia Newton-John is not related to Elton John in any way. Dame Olivia Newton-John passed away peacefully at her Ranch in Southern California this morning on 8 August 2022 following a battle with breast cancer at the age of 73.

Dame Olivia Newton-John AC DBE was raised as the youngest of three children born to Welshman Brinley “Bryn” Newton-John and Irene Helene Born. She recorded her first single, “Till You Say You’ll Be Mine” in 1966. She has had five number one hits and another ten Top Ten hits on the Billboard Hot 100 throughout her music career.

Olivia Newton-John is one of the best-selling music artists from the second half of the 20th century to the present, having sold more than 100 million records worldwide. She starred in the musical film Grease in 1978. Her major hit duet with co-star John Travolta: “You’re the One That I Want” is considered one of the best-selling singles of all time.
