Clu Gulager was previously married to Miriam Byrd-Nethery between 1960 to 2003 when she died. Miriam Byrd-Nethery was an American actress who was born on May 17, 1929, in Lewisville, Arkansas, United States.

Miriam Byrd-Nethery was born to her parents Daniel “Tom” Thompson Nethery and Ruby Estelle Byrd Nethery. She was raised alongside four siblings. She was married to Clu Gulager with whom she share the sons, Tom Gulager and John Gulager.

Miriam Byrd-Nethery died in Los Angeles, California, the United States on January 6, 2003, at age 73 following a long battle with a brain tumour. Her husband Clu Gulager was an American television and film actor and director from Oklahoma.

Clu Gulager reportedly passed away on 6th August 2022, at the age of 93. His cause of death has not yet been confirmed by close people and the media. He is best known for his performance as William H. Bonney (Billy the Kid) in the NBC television series The Tall Man (1960–1962) and as Emmett Ryker in the NBC Western series, The Virginian.
