Judith Durham Cause of Death

Judith Durham, one of Australia’s best-loved entertainers and the former lead singer of The Seekers, died on Friday, August 5, 2022, at the age of 79.

Durham is thought to have died in a hospital on Friday night following a battle with chronic lung disease.

She had been in palliative care at the Alfred Hospital before her death from complications with the disease.

In a joint statement, her Seekers bandmates Keith Potger, Bruce Woodley, and Athol Guy called her a “lifelong friend.”

‘Our lives have been forever changed by the loss of our treasured lifelong friend and shining star,’ they said.

‘Her struggle was intense and heroic; she never complained about her fate and fully accepted its outcome.’ Keith, Bruce, and Athol are so fortunate to be able to share her magnificent musical legacy.’

In an emotional statement, George Ash, President of Universal Music Australia and New Zealand, also praised the late singer-songwriter.
