Bower’s professional career began after a recommendation from his friend Laura Michelle Kelly to her agent. He worked part-time as a model for Select Model Management in London.
He portrayed the vampire Caius Volturi in The Twilight Saga: New Moon and both Twilight: Breaking Dawn films in 2009.
In the 2010 film Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1, he played a young Gellert Grindelwald, the dark wizard defeated by Albus Dumbledore; he reprised the role in the 2018 film Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.

He co-starred with Elarica Johnson in the 2020 film Six Days of Sistine, which was distributed by Mbur Indie Film Distributor.
Bower has been voicing Skiff in the Thomas & Friends franchise since 2015, appearing in the television show, two home videos, and the feature film Sodor’s Legend of the Lost Treasure.
Bower appeared as Henry Creel / One / Vecna in season four of the Netflix series Stranger Things in 2022. The makeup for Vecna required up to eight hours of work per day.
