Details about the parents of Letsile Tebogo, the 119-year-old sprinter from Botswana who broke an U20 world mark that had stood since 2014 is currently available.

At the age of six, Tebogo was already a well-rounded footballer and sprinter, with his teachers encouraging him to practise both sports. However, injuries hampered his football career so he opted to focus solely on track.
Tebogo who was born in Kanye, Botswana, won the 100m gold at the 2021 World Athletics U20 Championships in Nairobi, becoming the first Botswana athlete to win a gold medal in the 100m event at World Championship level.

The following year, specifically on February 19, 2022, Tebogo set a new national record in the 100 m on at the Botswana Athletics Association championships with a time of 10.08 seconds.
He improved this mark two months later by clocking a time of 9.96 seconds at the Gaborone International Meet, setting a new under-20 world record.
On 15 July 2022, he further improved this mark in his debut race at the World athletics championships held in Eugene, Oregon with a time of 9.94 seconds.
The following month he broke his record again, clocking a 9.91 second run at the 100 metres final during the 2022 World Athletics U20 Championships.
