Prince Yawson (Waakye) Biography, Cause of Death, Wife

Veteran Ghanaian actor cum comedian, Prince Yawson, popularly known as Waakye, has died.

According to sources, the 52-year-old actor died in the early hours of Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at the 37 Military Hospital after battling an illness (reportedly stroke) for years.

Waakye is best known for the role he played in various movies including Obra, Diabolo, in the early 2000s.

His most recent movie role was Chorkor Trotro, a Ghanaian comedy series which was aired on TV3.

The veteran actor was reportedly left bedridden after he got a mild stroke since 2013, which explained his disappearance from our TV screens, unlike times past when he served Ghanaian TV screens with unadulterated talent and unlimited entertainment.

However, in 2017, four years later after reports of him being struck with stroke, he made the headlines after he testified of God’s goodness and how he was saved from the icy hands of death.

On April 25, 2021, three years after testifying of God’s goodness, he was ordained as a man of God at a ceremony at the Word Impact Centre in Accra.

There’s no information regarding his marital status. However, he is survived by two beautiful daughters.
