Geraint Howell Thomas OBE is a Welsh professional racing cyclist. He was raised by his parents Howell Thomas and Hilary Thomas. He went to Whitchurch High School and by the age of 10, he started cycling with the Maindy Flyers Cycling Club at Maindy Stadium.

Geraint Thomas currently rides for UCI WorldTeam Ineos Grenadiers, Wales and Great Britain. He won the Carwyn James Junior Award at the BBC Wales Sports Personality of the Year ceremony. He made his Tour de France debut at the 2007 race as the youngest rider in the race.
Geraint Thomas became the first Welsh rider to compete in the race and was nominated for the BBC Wales Sports Personality of the Year award in 2007. He represented Wales at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in 2014. He was later appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2009 New Year Honours.
