Thomas Thabane Children: Meet Nkoya Thabane, Potlako Thabane and Toka Thabane

Thomas Thabane and his first wife, ‘Matoka Yayi Thabane, had four children together, but only three are mentioned in the media.

Nkoya Thabane

Nkoya, the daughter of Thomas Thabane, is a trained lawyer and advocate.

She fought for justice after her mother, Lipolelo Thabane,was murdered.

She strongly believed that her father’s then mistress, and now wife, Maesiah Thabane, had a hand on her death.

“If the allegations are true and she is convicted, then justice will be done. It will never bring back our mother that was murdered, but justice will be done”, she had quoted in the media at the time.

“When the wedding had happened, my mother had died. It was a whirlwind. It was surreal — it was like I was watching a movie”, she added.

Potlako Thabane

Potlako Thabane is the eldest son of Prime Minister Thomas Thabane.

After the murder of Lipolelo, Potlako tore the family apart by fighting for the release of his father’s wife ‘Maesiah’ from jail.

Maesiah was a prime suspect for the murder case, but rather than see it that way, Potlako rather criticized his sister, Nkoya, calling her a liar and accusing her of wanting her father dead.

He pushed for ‘Maesaiah to be released on bail and care for his father whom he says could die “within a matter of days”.

Toka Thabane
