Vanessa Carlton, an American singer-songwriter, was one of the most recognisable singer-songwriter voices of 2002, with her song “A Thousand Miles,” which became the sixth most played song of the year.

The song reached number five on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2002, becoming the year’s sixth most-played song and earning Grammy Award nominations for “Record of the Year,” “Song of the Year,” and “Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying Vocalist(s).”

She sold over a million copies of her debut album, “Be Not Nobody,” which was released in April 2002 thanks to this one enormous hit single.
Following her success, Carlton continued to release albums for the rest of her career. Even though Vanessa Carlton recorded other songs, none of them was as successful as “A Thousand Miles.”
Nevertheless, she stayed true to her passion and continues to record, as any true songstress knows. She has four albums to her credit, the most recent of which was Liberman in 2015.
