David Trimble, known fully as Baron William David Trimble was a British politician who served as the 12th Leader of the Ulster Unionist Party from 1995 to 2005 and also served as the 1st First Minister of Northern Ireland from 1998 to 2002.

David Trimble died on July 25, 2022, at the age of 77 years, after battling a short illness. As of now, the exact cause of the death is yet to be unravelled even though it is known that he died of an illness.

The death of David Trimble was reported in a post that reads: It is with great sadness that the family of Lord Trimble announce that he passed away peacefully earlier today following a short illness.”
A number of people on social media have expressed their heartfelt condolences to his family.
Bertie Ahern also posted about the death of David Trimble in a post that reads: “I think history will remember him as a politician who, in a really difficult time, when we were trying to end 30 years of violence, in spite of everything, stood up and put his name to that agreement.”
