Is Joni Mitchell in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?

Joni Mitchell CC is a singer-songwriter from Canada. Mitchell’s songs frequently express her feelings about romance, womanhood, disillusionment, and joy, as well as social and philosophical ideals.

She is the recipient of ten Grammy Awards and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997.

Mitchell was also inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 1981 and received Canada’s highest honour in the performing arts, the Governor General’s Performing Arts Award for Lifetime Artistic Achievement, in 1996.

Mitchell was honoured with a star on Canada’s Walk of Fame in 2000. She was only the third popular Canadian singer-songwriter to be named a Companion of the Order of Canada, the country’s highest civilian honour, in 2002.

In 2004, she was awarded an honorary doctorate in music by McGill University. She was inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame in January 2007.

Joni received the Saskatchewan Recording Industry Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 1993. Rolling Stone dubbed her “one of the greatest songwriters of all time.”

She received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 44th Annual Grammy Awards in 2002 and will be honoured by the Kennedy Center in 2021.
