Elon Musk’s alleged affair with Google co-founder’s wife

According to reports, Elon Musk had an affair with the wife of his longtime friend Sergey Brin. The affair brought an abrupt end to Elon and Sergey’s years-long friendship

Friends of the couple told The Wall Street Journal on Sunday, July 24 2022 that Musk’s romance with Nicole Shanahan prompted Sergey to file for divorce in January 2022.

It’s unclear how long the romance lasted, but it happened the same month Musk had a baby girl via surrogate with his ex-girlfriend Grimes, and a month after he secretly had twins with a former executive from one of his companies.

Brin and his wife, Nicole Shanahan, were divorced but still living together at the time of the affair in December 2021, according to a source close to her.

Brin, who married Shanahan in 2018, filed for divorce in January, citing “irreconcilable differences,” according to the Journal, several weeks after learning of the affair.

Musk and Brin had been friends for a long time, with Musk reportedly frequently sleeping at Brin’s Silicon Valley home.

Brin, who is worth $95 billion, is also said to have invested $500,000 in Tesla during the 2008 financial crisis when the carmaker was struggling with production issues.
