In 1927, they formed E. Trump & Son, a real estate development firm. It grew to construct and manage single-family homes in Queens, barracks and garden apartments for US Navy personnel near major shipyards on the East Coast, and over 27,000 apartments in New York City.
He transferred the majority of his apartment buildings to his surviving children shortly before his death while suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.
