Fred Trump and Mary Anne MacLeod Trump were the parents of Donald Trump, the 45th president of the United States.

Fred Trump Sr. was a real estate developer and businessman. Mary Anne MacLeod was born in the village of Tong on the Isle of Lewis, Scotland. Mary Trump arrived in the United States in 1930 and became a citizen in March 1942.
In the early to mid-1930s, Trump met his wife Mary Anne MacLeod at a dance party. On January 11, 1936, Trump married Mary at the Madison Avenue Presbyterian Church.

The couple settled in Jamaica, Queens, and had four children in addition to Donald trump MacLeod worked as a hospital volunteer and was involved in school activities and charities.

Among other charities, the Trumps were involved with the Salvation Army, the Boy Scouts of America, and the LightHouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired.
She and her husband gave their time, effort, services, and several medical buildings throughout New York; a 228-bed nursing home pavilion at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where she volunteered for years, is named after her.
Fred Trump died in June 1999, at the age of 93, after contracting pneumonia. She died one year later, on August 7, 2000, at the age of 88, at Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park, New York.
