Anthony plays as a baseman for the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball (MLB).

Before joining the Yankees, he played for the San Diego Padres and Chicago Cubs.

The three-time All-Star is a philanthropist and is listed amongst the world’s most respected players.

Anthony Rizzo Early Career

Anthony was born on August 8, 1989 and was drafted in 2007 by the Boston Red Sox in the sixth round of the MLB draft.

He was later traded to the San Diego Padres in exchange for Adrián González.

Anthony has appeared in the All-Star Game three consecutive times, between 2014 and 2016.

He has received several awards such as the Silver Slugger Award, Gold Glove Award, and the Roberto Clemente Award

Anthony Rizzo Philanthropy

Anthony set up the Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation which raises funds for cancer victims and their families.

In 2019, the Foundation hosted its 8th Annual Walk-Off for Cancer and was able to raise over $1.35 million.

The foundation did same in 2020, during its yearly Laugh-Off for Cancer program. It raised almost $500,000 to help families fighting cancer.
