Chelsea got her big break In July 2007 when she began starring in her half-hour late-night comedy series on E! titled Chelsea Lately.

The show was a success, averaging over 500,000 viewers per episode and garnering over one million views on YouTube.

Handler filmed a documentary series for Netflix called Chelsea Does in 2016, which included four episodes about marriage, Silicon Valley, racism, and drugs. Chelsea, her new Netflix original comedy talk show, premiered in May 2016.

Handler has six books that have made the New York Times Best Seller List, with five of them reaching number one. My Horizontal Life: A Collection of One-Night Stands (2005), describes the various sexual encounters she has had throughout her life.

Are You There, Vodka? is her second book. It’s Me, Chelsea (2008), a collection of humorous essays, debuted at the top of The New York Times Nonfiction Best Seller List on May 11, 2008, with over 350,000 copies sold.

Handler was ranked 98th on the Forbes Celebrity 100 in 2010. On their annual Time 100 list, Time named Handler one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2012.
