Ryder suddenly passed away on July 15, 2022 aged 58 and a statement released from the Happy Mondays and family indicated that they were “deeply saddened and shocked to say that Paul Ryder passed away this morning”.

The statement further said he was “a true pioneer and legend,” adding: “He will be forever missed… Long live his funk x”
