Sarkodie

Michael Owusu Addo known in showbiz as Sarkodie is a Ghanaian rapper and entrepreneur from Tema. He is the first Ghanaian to win the BET Award for the Best International Act: Africa category in 2012.He is the most awarded artiste in Ghana. Sarkodie is considered as one of the major artiste who brought the Azonto genre and dance back to life in Ghana and the world at large. Sarkodie is seen as on of the the best rappers in Africa. With about 5 studio albums and 2 live albums, Sarkodie’s achievements are enormous. Almost all the songs released by Sarkodie recently have been instant hits. He is undoubtedly one of the best musicians in Ghana if not the best.

Stonebwoy

Some music pundits have tipped Stonebwoy as the king of reggae and dancehall artists in Africa. Although he is better known as Stonebwoy he was born Livingstone Etse Satekla.     He has four studio albums with lots of hit songs including; Sobolo, Top Skanka, Most Original, Kpo K3K3, Nominate among others. As a young artiste he owns his own record label called Burniton Music Group. Stonebwoy is undoubtedly one of the best musicians in Ghana as he is the second Ghanaian to win the most celebrated entertainment award for black.

Shatta Wale

Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr. A.K.A. Shatta Wale is the most awarded dancehall artist in Africa with about 73 awards. His best-known song “Dancehall King“, led him to win the Artiste of the Year at the 2014 edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards hence giving him the name ‘Dancehall King’. His love for music made him drop out of school to travel to Jamaica for polishing of his craft. Shatta wale has three official albums(plus 1 mixtape) with several hit singles including; Taking Over, Ayoo, my level, Gringo, Bullet Proof and many more.

He has a fleet of cars and houses in Accra. Not long ago he landed a collaboration with Beyonce on her Lion King Album where he featured on her ‘King Already’ single. The song made waves across the globe making Shatta Wale more popular internationally.

Mzvee

Mzvee born Vera Hamenoo-Kpeda on born 23 June 1992 surprises a lot owing to the fact the Dancehall genre is a male-dominated one yet she made her way through it. Not only is she a Dancehall artists but also known for Afro-pop and R&B. Her debut solo album features several hit singles including ‘Borkor Borkor’, ‘Natural Girl’ and ‘Dancehall Queen’. Her single ‘Borkor Borkor’ gained her some publicity in Ghana. Mzvee has featured artists like Richie Mensah, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy. She was the winner of the New Artiste of the Year award at the 2015 Ghana Music Awards.

R2Bees

R2Bees is a Ghanaian Hiplife duo made up of Paedae da Pralem (Faisal Hakeem) and Mugeez (Rashid Mugeez). The name R2Bees (R2 Bees) comes from the group’s mantra which is “Refuse to be broke”. Their debut album, Da Revalution, is coming out soon.

They have an independent label called R2Bees Entertainment and some of the artistes signed on the label are Under, Humble and Waddle. R2Bees has been the longest music group in the country. They have released several hit singles throughout their career.
They have four studio albums including hit singles like; Over, sunshine, picture, Yesterday and more

Kuami Eugene

Kuami Eugene is undoubtedly one of the best aristes in Ghana if not the best who is signed by the Lynx Entertainment record label. Owing to his great talent, legendary High-life artist Amakye Dede crowned him as his successor in high-life music .
Kuami has a lot more hit singles more including; ‘Wish Me Well, Turn up, No more among others.

Fuse ODG

British-Ghanaian rapper Fuse ODG made his name in the London rap scene after growing up in the U.K. capital. His real name is Nana Richard Abiona and he is a talented producer and rapper. Fuse ODG is very popular outside of Ghana. He has had many of his singles peak at the UK top Charts.

Wendy Shay

Wendy Addo known for her stage name, Wendy Shay started her music career months after the death of danchehall Diva. Her life as a musician has been a tough one as she easily gets through by Ghanaians on social media. Her first single “Uber Driver” which got 1 million views on Youtube just weeks after its release gave her a music breakthrough. She has since released several hit singles and one album so far. She is with the Rufftown records label.

KiDi

KiDi, born Dennis Nana Dwamena was the 2015 MTN Hitmaker winner and is best known for his hit single Odo.  He has established himself as one of the fastest rising stars in Ghana with hit singles Adiepena, Say You Love Me, Enjoyment, say cheese, Thunder, and many more. Kidi together with Kuami Eugene are all artistes under the Lynx Entertainment record label.

Samini is one of the greatest artistes in Ghana . He has been in the music industry for quiet a long time now. He started singing in church and he began music at a time when it was hard to breakthrough. He is the CEO of High Grade family where he nurtured talents like Stonebwoy, Kofi Kinaata and many others. Samini has released seven studio albums, with all being highly successful on the commercial market. His breakthrough happened when his first single, Linda, was released. Becca

Born Rebecca Akosua Acheampomaa Acheampong, known as Becca, is a Ghanaian singer, songwriter and actress. She is one of the multi-talented female musicians on the continent with the best vocals earning her international recognition and many achievements. She is also interested in the empowerment of women in Ghana. Becca had three studio albums and is one of the most influential musicians in Ghana.

Medikal

Medikal born Samuel Adu Frimpong is one of the most popular artists in Ghana. The 24 year old hip hop musician is very successful despite his young age. He was one of the artists that got very high nominations for 2017, together with Sarkodie in the Ghana Music Awards. He has made a name for himself in the music industry through hard work and his numerous collaboration with successful artists. Medikal has released three studio albums.

Kofi Kinaata

Kofi Kinaata is a Ghanaian musician and songwriter from Takoradi. He is noted for his fante rap and freestyle and therefore known as the Fante Rap God (FRG). His real name is Martin King Arthur. He is recognized for the uniqueness of his lyrics in terms of rhyme schemes and humorous Fante rap style with a touch of traditional African proverbs. Kinaata has several hits including; Things Fall Apart, Adam and Eve, Single and Free, Confession, Last Show and more.

Efya

Jane Awindor better known by her stage name Efya, is a Ghanaian singer, songwriter, and actress from Kumasi. She is the daughter of Nana Adwoa Awindor, a filmmaker and celebrity host of the late television show Greetings From Abroad. Efya got her first exposure to fame when she participated in the maiden edition of the Stars of the Future talent show. She is known for her unique vocal dexterity. She is one of the best singers to have originated from Ghana. Though she has been in the industry for a while, she keeps climbing higher on the music ladder. She has three albums.
